Mix Vegetable Rasam



Rasam is a clear soup. Mix vegetable rasam is slightly sweet and sour in taste. This preparation is tempered. It is not very spicy soup.



Ingredients you will require to make this soup:

Carrots (gajar) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . two

Tomatoes (tamater) : . . . . . . . . . . two

Potatoes (aaloo) : . . . . . . . (small) two

Beans : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 100 gram

Cabbage (patta gobi) : . . . . . . 100 gram

Onion (pyaj) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . two

Red chili powder (lal mirchi) : 1 tea spoon

Mustard seed (rai) : . . . . . 1/2 tea spoon

Cumin seed (jeera) : . . . . 1/2 tea spoon

Asafoetida (hing) : . . . . . . 1/4 tea spoon

Tamarind pulp (imli) : . . . 2 table spoon

Jaggery (gud) : . . . . . . . . . . one piece

Curry leaves (kadi patta) : . . . . 8 to 10

Oil (tel) : . . . . . . . . . . . . 2 table spoon

Coriander leaves (hara dhania)

Salt (namak) as per your taste

Cut small pieces of carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, beans, cabbage and onion and boil it in water till done. Heat oil in a vessel and add mustard seed, cumin seed and curry leaves. Fry till seed crackles. Add asafoetida, tamarind pulp, red chili powder and jaggery. Cook for a minute and then add boiled vegetables and salt. Simmer for five minutes.

Garnish mix vegetable rasam with coriander leaves.
