Green Chili Rice





Green chili rice is a spicy preperation. It is rich in calories. Reduce the quantity of chilies to make it less spicy and hot.

Ingredients you will require :

Rice (basmati) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1 cup

Grated coconut (narial) : . . . . . . . . . . . 1/2

Ground nut crush (mungphali) : 1 tabe spoon

Green chilies : (hari mirchi) : . . . . . 5 to 6

Fenugreek seed (methi) : . . 1/4 tea spoon

Sesame seed (teel) : . . . . 1/4 tea spoon

Cumin seed (jeera) : . . . . 1/2 tea spoon

Mustard seed (rai) : . . . . . . 1 tea spoon

Asafoetida (hing) : . . . . . . 1/4 tea spoon

Turmeric powder (haldi) : 1/2 tea spoon

Curry leaves (kadi patta) : . . . . . 4 to 6

Lemon juice : . . . . . . . . 1 table spoon

Oil (tel) : . . . . . . . 2 to 3 table spoon

Coriander leaves ( hara dhania)

Salt (namak) to taste

Roast fenugreek seed, sesame seed, ground nut and cumin seed. Grind this rosted ingredients to powder.

Heat oil and fry mustard seed, curry leaves and oblique cut green chilies. Add roasted powder, asafoetida and turmeric powder and fry for half a minute. Mix rice in this temper and add coriander leaves and salt. Fry it for three to four minutes and then add water. Cook till rice is done. Sprinkle grated coconut while serving.

Enjoy green chili rice with curd or lassi.
