Sponge Cake





This is a simple sponge cake recipe. This preparation is egg less cake, with lots of dry fruit and you can use any other dry fruit of your choice.

WE will require following ingredients to make this cake:

Refined flour (maida) : 200 grams

Butter (makkhan) : . . 100 grams

Condensed milk : . . . . 200 grams

Milk (dudh) : . . . . . . . . . 1 cup

Sugar (shakkar) : . . . . . 1/2 cup

Cashew nut (kaju) : . . . 1/4 cup

Raisin (kishmish) : . . . . 1/4 cup

Baking powder : . . 1 tea spoon

Baking soda : . . 1/2 tea spoon

Salt (namak) 1/4 tea spoon

Sieve refined flour and mix melted butter and condensed milk. Now add milk with sugar dissolved in it. Add sieved baking powder and baking soda and mix it thoroughly till smooth consistency is formed. Be sure that there is no lump formation.

Now add broken cashew nut and raisin and mix it well. You may also use walnut or any other dry fruit of your choice.

Apply little butter on wall and bottom of the cake baking pan and sprinkle some refined flour. Pour the mix in the cake mould.

Pre heat oven to 180 degree C and bake the cake for twenty five to thirty minutes. Check it with a knife or a tooth pick for cake is completely cooked from inside. Knife will come out clean when cake is completely cooked from inside. If required, cook for another ten minutes. Cooking time depends on the capacity of the oven. You can decorate this sponge cake with cream and icing sugar for a special occasion.
