Potato Drumstick





Potato drumstick is a dish you can make for a regular daily vegetable food. This preparation is not very spicy or rich so adjust the quantity of chilies as per your taste. As a daily food, this dish can be enjoyed with roti or chapati.

Ingredients you will need for this dish :

Potatoes (aloo) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . five to six

Drumstick (sahjan ki phali) : . . . . . . . . . . two

Onion (pyaj) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . two

Tomatoes (tamater) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . two

Garlic (lasoon) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . six to eight

Red chili powder (lal mirchi) : 1 1/2 table spoon

Coriander powder (dhania) : . . . . 1 table spoon

Turmeric powder (haldi) : . . . . . . 1/2 tea spoon

Tamarind pulp (imli) : . . . . . . . . . 2 table spoon

Oil (tel) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3 to 4 table spoon

Coriander leaves (hara dhania)

Salt (namak) as per your taste

Peel and cut potatoes. Heat oil in a pan and fry finely chopped onion till it is just transparent. Add crushed garlic and saute for a minute. Add red chili powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder. Cook for a minute and then chopped tomatoes and salt. Now add potatoes and cook on slow flame for five to seven minutes till potatoes are half done. Add drumstick (cut pieces of about two inches) and tamarind pulp. Mix it well and cook till potatoes are done.

Garnish potato drumstick with coriander leaves.
