Mughlai Dal with Lauki



Mughlai dal - recipe for less spicy dish

Ingredients you will need :

Chana dal (bengal gram) : . . 1/2 cup

Tur dal (red gram) : . . . . . . 1/2 cup

Turmeric powder (haldi) : 1 tea spoon

Bottle gourd (lauki) : . . . . 100 grams

Onoins (pyaj) : . . . . . . . . . . . . two

Tomatoes (tamater) : . . . . . . . . . two

Green chilies (hari mirchi) : . . . . 1 to 2

Ginger (adrak) : . . . . . . . . . . . . 1/2"

Garlic (lasoon) : . . . . . . . . . . . 5 to 6

Cumin seed (jeera) : . . 1 tea spoon

Coriander leaves (hara dhania)

Oil (tel) : . . . . . . 1 table spoon

Salt (namak) to taste

Pressure cook chana dal and tur dal with salt and turmeric powder. Heat oil and fry onion. Add finely chopped ginger, garlic, chilies and cumin seed. Fry for a minute and then add lauki and tomatoes. Cook for two minutes and then transfer it to cooked dal. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Black pepper corn (kali mirchi dana) : 8 to 10

Ginger (adrak) : . . . . . . . . . . . . 3/4"

Garlic (lasoon) : . . . . . . . . . . 8 to 10

Mustard seed (rai) : . . 1 tea spoon

Cumin seed (jeera) : . . 1 tea spoon

Coriander leaves (hara dhania)

Oil (tel) : . . . 3 to 4 table spoon

Salt (namak) to taste

Fry for a minute and then add lauki and tomatoes. Cook for two minutes and then transfer it to cooked dal. Garnish with coriander leaves.
