Paneer Masala



Paneer masala is a rich and spicy dish prepared from Indian cottage cheese. This preparation is very high in calories as cheese and ghee is used. You can reduce the quantity of chilies to make it less spicy.

Ingredients we will need need to make this recipe:

Indian cottage cheese (paneer) : 500 grams

Tomatoes (tamater) : . . . . . . . . . . 3 to 4

Onion (pyaj) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2 to 3

Ginger paste (adrak) : . . . . . 1 table spoon

Green chilies (hari mirchi) : . . . . . . . 3 to 4

Red chili powder (lal mirchi) : 1 tea spoon

Coriander powder (dhania) : 1 tea spoon

Ajwain : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2 tea spoon

Garam masala powder : 1 tea spoon

Coriander leaves (hara dhania)

Ghee : 1/2 cup

Salt (namak) as per your taste

Cut cottage cheese in 1/2 inches pieces.

Boil tomatoes and make pulp.

Heat ghee in a thick bottom pan. Add finely chopped onion and fry till onion is just soft. Add ginger paste, long cut green chilies, red chili powder, garam masala powder, ajwain, and coriander powder. Fry for one minute and then add tomato pulp. Cook for five minutes and then add paneer. Add salt and cook till thick gravy is formed.
