Malai Kofta



Malai kofta - recipe for less spicy dish

Kofta means balls of minced food, having spice and are fried to cook. Malai kofta is cheese balls and cream preparation.

Ingredients required for kofta :

Paneer : . . . . . . . . . . 250 grams

Flour : . . . . . . . . 2 table spoon

Baking Powder : . . . 1/2 tea spoon

Green chilies (hari mirchi) : 1 to 2

Salt (namak)to taste

Oil to fry

Mix paneer and flour. Add baking powder, finely chopped green chilies and salt and blend it thoroughly. (you may grind it) Make small balls and deep fry. Put it on bloating paper to remove excess oil.

For curry :

Tomatoes (tamater) : . . . six to eight

Crushed coconut (narial) : . . 1/2 cup

Red chili powder (lal mirchi) : 1/2 tea spoon

Cumin powder (jeera) : . . . . 1/2 tea spoon

Garam masala powder : . . . 1/2 tea spoon

Garlic/ginger paste (adrak lasoon) : 2 tea spoon

Onion (pyaj) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . two

Curd (dahi) : . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1/2 cup

Cream (malai) : . . . . . . . . . . . 1/2 cup

Ghee : . . . . . . . . . . . . 1 table spoon

Salt (namak) to taste

Method for preparing curry for malai kofta

Temper garlic/ginger paste and fine chopped onions in ghee and then add red chili, jeera and garam masala powder. Add finely chopped tomatoes or tomato paste, coconut and curd and let it cook till done. Add salt to taste and then add fried kofta in the gravy. Add cream on top and serve.

Enjoy malai kofta with roomali roti or tandoori roti.

Ingredients required for kofta :

Baking Powder : . . . . . 1/2 tea spoon

Green chilies (hari mirchi) : 2 to 4

Salt (namak) to taste

Oil to fry
